Bigg Boss (BB), an Indian reality television game show franchise based on the Dutch-British show Big Brother, has announced its revamp with the upcoming season 15. The show is tentative to be aired on October 2 and to no one's surprise, Bollywood 'Bhaijan' Salman Khan will reprise his role as host.
The megastar will be paid a whopping Rs 350 crore for the current season, which is planned for 14 weeks, says a report. The actor has been the consistent host for the show for 11 seasons. With his unique style of hosting combined with witty humour, the actor pulls off his work with a mesmerising swagger.
Reports claim that Salman Khan has been the highest-paid host of a reality show. It may be recalled that before the start of season 14 in 2020, it was revealed that the superstar was paid as much as Rs 2.5 crore per episode from season 4 to Season 6. For season 7, the actor was paid Rs 5 crore, while for BB 13, the actor was reportedly paid Rs 13 crore per week.
With the rebound of the show on cards, as usual, the speculations regarding the upcoming season's format and contestants are doing the rounds.
In the Bigg Boss OTT version, which is hosted Bollywood star director Karan Johar, Divya Agarwal emerged as the winner while Nishant Bhat took up second runner-up spot. Meanwhile, before announcing the name of the winner, host Karan Johar showed the housemates a silver briefcase and said that whoever chooses to take the briefcase will directly enter 'Bigg Boss 15'. Pratik Sehajpal took it and chose to enter Salman's show.
